Pictures of Tweety Bird and the Tree

Rob, my cousin, sent me this email about my their ordeal over the weekend. The white car that you see is "Tweety", my Father's car, and from the looks of her, she looks like her glory days are over. The Blue Dodge Durango is Rob's truck, and the black car is my sisters.

What a weekend. Saturday we had Amandas birthday party. We had a bunch of friends and family members over to celebrate and watch football.. It was raining all day but it was really warm in the morning. About 6:00PM or so the temperature dropped about 30 degrees and the rain changed to snow and freezing rain. The winds were about 40-50 miles per hour. My wife's cousin, Laci, stayed the night due to terrible road conditions. I had just finished cleaning the kitchen, Aggie was a sleep. I went to take the garbage out and get some more fire wood. I walked into the house, put the wood down, put a couple of logs in the fire and had a few words with Aggies cousin when there was a bright flash of light out side and the power went out. We were like, holy $%$%%#$. What was that. It must have been a transformer but I do not have one that close. I opened the door and there was a tree down. If I had 2 more dishes to clean I would have been out there when the tree came down. It was about 7 feet from the house.

I went out side to look it over, came back into the house and called the police. A few minutes later my neighbor came out and I ran out to let him know that everyone was ok. He then said he would be right back and set up a room for us to sleep. about 5-10 minutes later my other neighbor came out to see what happened. They both happened to look out their windows and saw what happened. Laci and I spent the night in the house to keep the fire going and to wait for JCPL. We probably got about 2 hours sleep and they showed up Sunday Morning about 7:30.

All they had to say was they will need to get a tree removal company to come and cut the tree. The tree guys for JCPL showed up later that day and said they would be back. They had another job they needed to finish. They showed up Monday about 10:00AM. I sleep in the house again on Sunday night to keep the fire going so the pipes would not freeze up. It was about 15 degrees out that night.

I spend the whole day Monday cutting up the tree because JCPL only does
what they need to in order to free up the wire. My neighbor helped with the clean up. Still have some to do like raking and blowing. Saturday I will borrow my brother in laws truck to remove everything.

We finally got Electricity back Monday late evening.
